Arthur F. ''Sonny'' Wallace, 84, of Vilonia, AR went to be with the Lord, April 25, 2024. He was born March 6, 1940 in Des Arc, Arkansas to Thomas Franklin and Cora Leigh Wallace. Sonny was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Jim Bruce Wallace and grandson, Keith Townsend.

Sonny was married to Lynda Perkins Wallace and they just celebrated their 63rd anniversary on April 22nd. They raised two daughters, Debbie Townsend (Marc) of Vilonia and Susan Salisbury (Kenny) of Yukon, OK. They have three grandchildren, Taylor Townsend (Natalie) of Fayetteville, Morgan Warner of Oklahoma City and Stormey Warner of Fayetteville and Great grandchildren, Addie and Davis Townsend, Cyrus, Sayer and Marcellus Jackson of Oklahoma City.

Sonny proudly served his country in the Army and National Guard. He spent the remainder of his working life selling all type of tires, from passenger tires to commercial truck tires before retiring in 2004.

Sonny was a great story teller and jokester and never met a stranger. He really enjoyed time with his family from participating in Y Indian Princess', to helping with Girl Scouts and he even won a buckle for pole bending. Many a night he spent hauling horses for his daughter's to horse shows across the state and loved to stop for breakfast after a long night horse show.

After his retirement, Sonny spent many hours playing dominos at Vilonia Sr. Citizens Center. Sonny and Lynda also enjoyed traveling and visiting National Parks. They also enjoyed watching their grandkids play basketball, cheer and perform color guard over the years. He was also an avid NASCAR fan.

Sonny has been a long member of Vilonia United Methodist Church and member of the Fellowship Sunday School class.

Monetary donations can be made in his memory to Vilonia United Methodist Church or to Vilonia Sr. Citizens Center.

The family would like to thank the excellent and compassionate care that was given to Sonny over the last two months at CARTI and Conway Regional Medical Center ICU unit.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 29, 2024 at 11:00am at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at 10:00am. Burial will follow at Vilonia Cemetery.

Sonny will be missed by our community. One by one this great generation of men and women are leaving us behind, but with good examples of how to make our families and communities better. Lynda, Debbie, and Susan……thanks for sharing him with us all. He provides a great memory for us all.
