JoAnn Breeding, 91, of Springdale, Arkansas went to be with the Lord, May 4, 2024. She was born January 5, 1933 in Palarm Township outside Conway, AR to Homer and Edith Bush.
JoAnn was the daughter of a sustenance and sharecrop farmer, growing up in a small, two bedroom house heated only by wood. She did not enjoy running water/indoor plumbing in the home and electricity only during her senior year in high school.
She met her husband to be, Royce Breeding, while he was working as a soda jerk in a local pharmacy. They were married in June of 1951. After Royce served his country in the Korean Conflict, they lived in several locations before settling in North Little Rock, AR, where they raised their two boys. In 2000 they moved to Springdale, AR to be close to their grandchildren.
Faith and family were a priority in JoAnn and Royce's lives. They devoted their time and energy to raising their sons, never missing an opportunity to support their endeavors. They were also very committed to their local church. They raised their sons with this in mind, modeling a devotion to their faith in Jesus. After the passing of Royce, this commitment continued. JoAnn never missed the opportunity to tithe and while on a fixed income, she regularly purchased extra groceries to contribute to the church's food bank. JoAnn embodied the spiritual gifts of mercy and generosity.
JoAnn was an exemplary wife and mother. She exhibited the best of qualities: unconditional love, selflessness and an unending generosity that could be seen in her care for her husband, children, grandchildren, entire family and countless others.
JoAnn was preceded in death by her husband, Royce Breeding; parents, Homer and Edith Bush and brother, Bobby Bush. She is survived by sons, Brian Breeding and wife, Vicki of Bella Vista, AR; Brant Breeding and wife, Delores of Springdale, AR; grandchildren, Aaron Breeding and wife, Sierra of Jefferson City, MO; Andrew Breeding and wife, Braydin of Tahlequah, OK; Rachel Barnica and husband, RJ of Mont Belvieu, TX; Daniel Breeding of Springdale, AR and great-grandchildren, Benjamin Barnica and Sabella Breeding.
Graveside service will be Wednesday, 11:30 am at Oak Grove Cemetery in Conway, AR.
